Angels and Angels at Christmastime. After all, who'd put an a-hole on top of their tree?

OK. Maybe I’ve over-used the Razor. But I am impressed with Occam and his Razor philosophy…that the simplest solution is usually the best.

As I mentioned last time, education is out-moded, has stopped evolving to fit the needs of our current cultures, societies, countries. It’s difficult to prioritize the problems that need fixing in America and the world.

Before tackling peace around the world, let’s take a look at the war going on in our cities and around our country. 

Ok, I am aware when the beauty queen is asked what she’d most like in her life and she answers “world peace” all us cynics think: “Right airhead. Let’s get real.” Well, I’m pretty far from a beauty queen, but honestly, world peace would be cool, no?

For this application of the Razor, I figured I’d pick an easy one: world peace.

In my next novel, Will, (coming out this fall) Will –the main character—feels scoundrels use complexity to confuse issues to their advantage. “Keep it simple,” he says.

Some people had questions about what I meant last A&A by “Complexity is the harbor for scoundrels.”

Since there's so much dastardly A-hole crap going on right now, I thought I'd send my Facebook friends my summer newsletter for my clients. To me a ray of sunshine.

Democrat/Republican, liberal/conservative, rich/poor, capitalism/socialism, Black/White, Christian/Muslim, left/right, democracy/communism, EU/Brexit, man/woman, angel/a’hole. It’s an endless list. The world would seem to be becoming more and more polarized. We have to be on one side, one extreme or another. 

When I started with A and A it was intended, I hope you realize, as a tongue-in-cheek attempt to point out social injustices and to champion people and events that remind us we are all human.

“What could be better than to hold your hand out to people less fortunate than you are?” The Pope? The Dalai Lama? Certainly two angels that believe this to be true. But, no, it was said by the actor, Paul Newman.

Gun control is a problem that has reached absurd proportions. Isn’t it about time we not only acknowledge, but take action about this?

My dictionary defines success as: 1) A favorable or satisfying outcome; 2) The gaining of wealth, fame, rank, etc. The first, although not very specific, I agree with. The second I would say is what most people ‘think’ success is.

This is the little schoolhouse for the Hope Town students on Elbow Cay. The students in their colorful uniforms were so damn darling I had to visit a classroom. (Old teachers never die, they just wander into random schoolhouses, I guess.)
