The Obvious Advocate - Buy Low

Considering this new reality we’re quarantined in, I thought I’d throw in my two cents worth: you’ve heard the phrase, “Buy low; sell high?” Be aware if you sell now, like the majority of unsophisticated investors did a few years ago during the ‘great recession,’ you’re selling “low.” Obviously you lose. If you have time and don’t need money now, be patient.

This pandemic will pass, as the market will again rise. I’m not saying the market is at its lowest. Who knows, it may well go lower … especially if fear controls us. But the world I don’t believe will end…not yet, anyway. I’m not telling you what to do. This isn’t advice as I don’t know your personal circumstances. I’m just saying if you sell your investments now and wait for the market to rise to reinvest, you’ll be selling high. Sell low; buy high … if you can’t figure why that’s not a good idea, you should reconsider investing.

Just thought I’d throw that out there. The world sure has been altered to the unprecedented. But some things are obvious. Say after me: “Buy low. Sell high.”
