The Obvious Advocate - Will

Will by Tim Munkeby

My last novel, “Will,” is available, again. It is a tongue-in-cheek, fictional tale of a pretentious but elfin young man, Will, his best friend and protector, Peewee—a six-foot seven gentle giant—and their fragile, beautiful, but damaged mutual friend, Sandy.

Due to a skeptical future, Will, although unimpressive in stature but with a very impressive intellect, feels an urgency to set some things “right” before he signs off. Will knows that Peewee, impressive in both stature and abilities, could accomplish the needed changes Will is so adamant about in today’s world. But Peewee, to Will’s frustration, just wants to be left alone, in peace, to enjoy life, and remain oblivious to the shit going on in the world.

But, Will has a plan that will not let Peewee off.

I am a believer that young people are going to have a profoundly positive affect on our society and politics. Will, Peewee, and Sandy—Millennials—depict cultural and philosophical differences among young people today…some entitled and oblivious, some caring but confused about what to do or think, others becoming strong activists for causes they believe in.

Although as I said Will is a tongue-in-cheek novel, my intention is to get people, especially young people who will soon be our future, to think about things. Now particularly, when people’s choices are going to have a profound effect on what happens here in America and in our world.

I’ve done some book clubs and college class book discussions after they read “Will,” but our angry virus won’t allow these at the moment…but, if a group wanted to order “Will,” we could maybe arrange a “Face-time” discussion where we’re all remote. I suggest with all this time now on our hands, order “Will” and read it. Part of one newspaper review: “It’s an easy romp that will leave the reader something to think about.”

If you or your group wants a prompt on what think or talk about, contact me and I’ll send you “study” questions. Also, order from my website. There’s more on “Will” there and my other books. My publisher will not let me sell the book for less than $10, so that’s now the price (normally $14.95), until they are gone.

If you have read any of the other books and liked them, are an ex-student or friend, please pass this along to anybody you think might be interested. Thank you. We obviously need some changes … NOW!
